Quick ??? Please

Hi all,
I know that CA will eat a kit part plating, but will accelerant / activator do the same??
I don't want to find out the hard way:biggrin:

Skip, it's gpoing to depend on what type of plating you are dealing with.

It should hold up to a spray, but I wouldn't leave it submerged. Most of the accelorants are acetone based.

Titanium Gold should handle whatever you throw at it. Isn't that why they coat the drill bits with it??

Its all good until you get a little chip or crack in the plating, then whatever is behind it is fair game to everything.

Thanks guys. No harm done. I was doing one of those cap finial insert mods and only had CA. I didn't want to take a chance so I glued - squirted activator and then just dunked it in water. :biggrin:

That won't harm it, I've used it to clean off tape residue without any problems.

Neil, try WD40 to remove tape residue ( and other sticky stuff ) works great.:wink:
