Question : Pen for Gardener?

I am going to make a pen for an older lady who's interests are gardening... anyone got a good idea on a material for a gardening themed pen?

How about casting seeds in resin. I've been meaning to try this for a while but haven't yet.

Something from her personal garden made into a pen. Wood from a fence, gate, old shovel handle, plants cast into a blank, peppers, seeds, etc. Stuff from her own garden would be kind of neat I think.
