So I have just finished making 3 Big Ben cigars and have a question - is the twist mechanism supposed to work in both directions? All three of my pens make the tip come out if I twist in either direction.

That's called a "double twist" mechanism and some (manufacturers) have it, some don't.
Usually, it is considered "desirable"---but some customers will argue about that.
You probably can replace with a single twist---I think those threads are fairly standard.

What he means is if you twist it clockwise you can write left to right, twist it counter clock wise and you can write right to left...... Sorry. I'm one that doesn't care for the "double-twist".

I found it odd on the new Atrix...but I kinda like it. As does my mom.
