Our current Lennox is a free standing thing, 4 years old and has been nothing but issues. We have decided to replace it.

Thinking about a fire place insert because we don't use the fire place. Anyone have an opinion on inserts and their installation?

Not for pellet stoves but the newer ultra efficent wood stoves have gotten above 90% efficancy and there is nothing like curling up with the wife in front of the fire! I have lived with forced air, electric, base board water, even spent some time on radiant floor heat........I love wood stoves!

No desire to deal with a wood stove. Been there done that, have better things to do than tend a fire. Pellet stoves are as close as I will get.

Cool

I was looking at Harmon. What model? I was considering the accentra. My biggest issue is installation. I am pretty handy but never did anything like that.

I was also wondering about the fresh air intake. Our fire place is backed by a converted garage that is not heated but it is not fresh air either. How did you handle that?

Venting? Did you use a standard stove pipe or the stainless flex?

Thanks

I have the accentra. I ran the stainless flex up my existing chimney. Didn't use fresh air intake unless you count opening my ash dump. Pretty simple to install.
