So now that the New iPad is going to be unveiled soon, I thought that after it comes out I would get an iPad 2, just cuz it would be cheaper and still a good piece of hardware.

But I wasnt sure if I would be better off with an android tablet.
How compatible with a PC is the iPad?
Can I transfer music/photos/documents to it from my PC?

any help is appreciated. :smile:

Yes you transfer music, photos, documents etc from a PC to IPAD. I would say there is good majority of IPAD users that do that. Myself included. It is done via ITunes which you would install on your PC.
 
Yes you can. It also just got better with a free app that lets you run Windows and Flash on the IPad. Check out 'OnLive Desktop' You will be amazed! I have it installed and it works great.
 
I am a big fan of my iPad! I highly recommend getting one. With the new version coming out, get the new one. Don't look back, and don't second-guess. Just do it!

If your waiting until the Ipad 3 is released I would suggest searching for a Refurbished Ipad from the Apple website. I have a cousin who works at the Apple store and he's told me that once the new models come out Apple simply attaches a Refurbished sticker on all their instock units. Kind of a way for them to justify lowering the price I guess.

I bought a version 1 for my son when the 2 came out and save over $100. No, whether or not what I was told is true I sure couldn't tell that it wasn't a brand new unit.
 
I'm watching and waiting for the iPad 3 to come out as well, so I can find a deal on an iPad 2. I don't need latest and greatest, just something more affordable that will get me in that realm and capable of running the Square Up app so I can branch out from cash only transactions.

Already seeing a lot of good used ones on Ebay and Amazon, maybe some are unloading early to gather up funding for a new one...

Any insights on the best memory amount to get (in terms of how much you realistically need)? I don't plan on downloading games and videos. More for the Square up, a "few" e-books, email, social networking and banking stuff. So more a productivity device than a toy. Toys aren't in the budget right now, but I can justify something to assist with making & selling more pens, so long as I can keep it down around the $500 mark or less for wifi and 3G.
 
One of the ways you can use the iPad is for a slideshow/catalog of the pens you have in stock or ones that have been sold. Good photos really look sharp on the iPad and there's no reason you couldn't eventually have a hundred photos or more to show people the options that are available.
 
Is there any particular app you use for doing slideshows so the ipad doesn't go into sleep mode?

I'm also curious: Is there a good app for running through photos of your past pens, sort of catalog style, when showing a prospective customer the various possibilities?
 
I have the original iPad. It got me through grad school and many long nights of being on call I still have it and it works great.
