Question about blank sizes

I've cut up a TON of scrap I have collecting dust and was wondering what the minimum size width, and length that can be used for pens blanks.

Most widths are 7/8"-3/4", but I have some 5/8" and 1/2"
and lengths are at least 3" -12"

Do people buy crosscut blanks?

Macassar ebony
Zebrawood
Cocobolo
Bird's eye maple
Bacote
Cochen Rosewood
Wenge

Yes, people buy crosscut, some is tricky to turn, but we live and learn.

Many moons ago, nearly all kits were 7mm tubes, nearly all blanks were 5/8, some closer to 1/2, So, yes they can be sold.

Because of the difficulties involved, the market is smaller (fewer turners can make them turn into salable pens).

IF they are already cut, post a picture of a handful, with a price in the classifieds.

IF they sell, you did good. IF not, reconsider your value.

Around here, if the price is right and it's worm ridden someone will buy it and cast it.

Some of the ones listed will be usable for slims, others like the wenge people just don't seem to want that much. Not saying you can't sell them, ut it may be at a much lower price.

Yep, we'll buy. If the price is right and the product looks good we'll buy them. The widths look good. The length is usually 5 1/2" at a minimum, but the Sierra and similar pens use a 3" long blank. Hope this helps.

I just measured and the smallest are 5/8" and just over 3"
Most are 7/8"-1" so cool!

I'll photograph and price them out and post in swap soon.

I also turned a crosscut Mac Ebony and Zebra and they are harder but doable. I like the grain!
