Well...I don't know where you guys are hiding your Pumpkins at, but my daughter and I just finished carving ours. It was about a 15-20 lb pumpkin, and I carved it with just a steak knife.

Why? Is your scrollsaw out of action?:biggrin: That looks cool, there are some neat templates online for carving pumpkins.

Here's the two that my twin 8 yr olds carved tonight. Used a jigsaw blade in an xacto knife handle - worked like a charm and easy for them to control, even with the death grip on the little mini saw!

OK, I have to tell a story.
When we lived in Fairbanks, the church we attended had an annual Harvest Fest with contests and activities, etc. One year, they had a pumpkin carving contest. Most of the guys carved wildlife scenes on their pumpkins. My dad, as a joke, carved a pumpkin out of wood, painted it, and placed it on the table with all the other pumpkins. The really funny thing was he won the contest!!:biggrin:

He ended up giving the prize (a set of pumpkin carving tools) to one of the other guys who entered...

Wow...all those pumpkins look sweet! I like the pictures in the dark. My daughter thinks her pumpkin is so awesome and scary it could win a pumpkin carving contest. I am flattered...but I know that's not likely. I've seen some of those guys on TV carving them..way out of my league.

Jeff, that's a wonderful picture of your beautiful daughter and you. However, you might want to get a doctor to check out your gallbladder as you are looking a bit jaundiced.

Here's a few pics of last years artwork. The kids clean them out and pick the design, then I carve them. The ghost and house are on the same pumpkin. This years work is done now but I have to wait til dark for some pics which I will post later!
