A month ago a video was posted of someone turning a pumpkin. I made the mistake of showing that to my kids 
!
Took the lathe outside and covered it with tape and rags (taped down). I had to stop before I wanted to because the stem started to crack. I would get a smaller one if I was to do it again.
The family enjoyed the show and the chickens ate all of the scraps :biggrin:!

I had a lot of fun with it. Clean up did take awhile but I needed to do a good maintenance cycle on it anyway.
