After years of watching my overpowered mitre saw spit the money end of the blanks against the shop wall that I am trying to cut for my segmented pens, I am looking into a mini-mitre saw.

Does anyone have any experience with the Proxxon Mitre saw? From what I can tell from the literature, it seems to be the ticket. Problem is that I can't find anyone in my area that has used one or a shop to go look at it.
My biggest concern is accuracy and solid performance. My experience with "mini" power tools in the past has been that they are not always very sturdy which lends itself to some wobbly results.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Something in my DNA is telling me to ask for help before I spend way too much money on what may turn into another shop dust collector.

Thank you!

Proxxon tools have a great reputation so I can only assume that the saw is a very good one.

I was reading the forums here earlier and there was reference to the Proxxon mini metal lathe. Someone's dream machine!!

I have looked at their machines in Australia but always felt they were out of my pocket range.

I think what you will find is that both of these saws have a limited capacity. 3/4 of an inch is about its limit at 90 degrees.... if you want to cut at an angle the capacity drops even more. As for the quality of the machines, they are really well made. Just read up on what they can ACTUALLY do.
