These are two ProX pens, from Turners Warehouse. One is gunmetal/copper, the other is gunmetal/brass. The wood is cocobolo, and the finish is Watco Danish oil. I made these as engagement gifts for two friends who are getting married next year. I chose cocobolo because their wedding will be in Mexico. I'll be having them engraved. Fairly happy with how they turned out.

I did have a problem with the clips. Neither of them are tight to the body. The brass one was the worst. I tried to disassemble it, but was unsuccessful. So I bent it as best I could with it installed on the pen. It's better, but not great. I did bend the clip on the copper pen a little before I assembled it. The metal is really stiff, and I was afraid of damaging it, so I didn't bend it too far. Not really happy with that part of the pens, but it is what it is. I think Lauren and Jaydon will be happy with them regardless.

Nice !!

Interested in how you adjusted the clips. .

I have the same problem sometimes. . It is tricky to deal with. . What I do is exaggerate the gap a little bit by sliding a small drill bit of appropriate size under the clip and as close as possible to the top end. . Then, using that point as the "fulcrum", I carefully press down on the elevated end.

Very nice looking pens. It is a pity about the clips being goofy and not fitting as they should.
The cocobolo works nicely with this kit.

NIce job. I have made that kit many times. I have never had that problem (yet). Assuming the barrel is not overturned, could it be that now there is a notch in the clip retention ring that was missed? I don't remember seeing one on the kits that I have made. Maybe one was added?

Not that I noticed. If there was a notch that I missed, I would think the ring wouldn't sit flush.

That's what I did, but with a transfer punch.
