I just scour the house for stuff... small wicker baskets, glassware, jewelry, etc.

You would be surprised at what you can find around the house. I have a couple of leftover pieces of wood from when I cut my blanks, a cork from a decorative bottle, and some of the novelty rocks that you find at tourist traps. You know, the ones that say " fill the bag with rocks for $5.00". Just don't tell my kids, they don't know I commandeered their rocks. I'm sure ill find more things as I go along.

Are you asking about the single pen stands made from acrylic?

I've seen people use nice stands , rocks, wood and I just can't find nice stuff

Aren't you in the land of weekend Flea Markets? Just walk the isles and let your mind run wild and when you're done, you'll have a bag full of props for less than $10...

Check you children's toy box. You would be surprised what you can find in game pieces.
I might find a conche shell or two laying around if you think they'd help - drift wood is also nice.
