Product inquiry - Baxter Threading system

I stumbled across this product the other day. I've been wanting to get into cutting my own threads, but the price is steep. This system would solve most of my issues. Has anyone had any experience with the product (good, bad or indifferent)? http://bestwoodtools.stores.yahoo.net/bathma.html

This threader was demonstrated at our turning club this month. It seems to be a very solid machine. The demonstrator turned a small acorn box with threaded lid and body. The threads on the body and lid mated tightly. I also think a couple of the club members have them and really like them.

there are two or three other ones on the market -

Bonnie Klein was probably the first - and I think she still sells it with mounts for mini lathes (I have seen her use in on the Jet midi). I have one of hers.

They are a little fussy -- you have a limited selection of thread pitches, but work well.


Much faster learning curve than chasing threads!!!!!

I have seen Bonnie Klein use hers and it looked very easy to use and the boxes went together beautifully. You should check it out and compare.
