problem with PSI seamrippers

Anyone hav problems with the retainer clip on PSI seamrippers? Some times the blade won't stay in the closed position the insert falls out.. Any help will be appreciated. Joe

have had the same problem the clip is pretty cheap, i got 5 kits made 3 all with problems, the other 2 are still in the bags

I had problems when they first came out with the small (shorter) clips. But have no issues with the newer clips.

One thing to consider with the newer ones (longer) is to put the "solid end" in first with the end with the "strips" toward the end where the ripper goes.

Only other issue is to let the buyer know not to twist the ripper blade out but rather just pull it straight out.

I have made two double ended seam rippers. The insert seems to be tight. I remember that the clip ring should only go in with the cut outs toward the end of the blank.

I have made several double-end ones, and had the same problems with all of them. Ironically, the newer models that came out with the neck chains use an improved retainer that does not seem to have the same issue.

Dale, I have had the same problem with the last 4 out of 6 that I bought I might call PSI
