I haven't done any casting in my pressure pot in probably more than 6 years. It was put together probably 10 years ago. It's the version that I made from a Harbor Freight pressure paint pot, with the way to set that up as someone on here long ago showed people. It's worked great in the past, but since I haven't used it in so long, I'm just wondering if anyone has any info on the life span of such a device? I don't know if I should be leery about using it at this point... Thanks for any input.

Hi Angela - rubber seals get dried out, so you might want to replace the lid gasket. Pressure vessel life is primarily controlled by the number of cycles and potential corrosion. Since yours hasn't been in service, excess cycle life isn't an issue. Inspect it carefully for any corrosion or cracks in welds.

Leary? Replace. Also the pressure release value can fail. I was with someone that had one do that. It was for dental cold curing acrylic. To much pressure and the lid blew off. Safeties fail. Upgrade, replace sooner than later.
