Thinking about buying this pressure pot form TCP Global Corporation
in the product description it says 90 lb. max pressure
and the safety relief valve is set to 60 psi
what would you up grade the safety valve to
someone here said they use 70 psi to cure there pen blanks
I though about a 80 psi or 90 psi valve

I would get a Binks if I wanted to cast up to 80 psi, they are high quality and ASME rated. The TCP Global one is not ASME rated, so it is unclear what was used to determine the 90 psi max pressure. It is all a matter of how much risk you are willing to take, and at what price. I have the same pot with the Grizzly brand on it. That lid is SECURE. Much more secure than the lid they put on the HF ones.
And for the last time... a modification to the lid is what blew that pot up. Geeeez.
50 psi is plenty with Alumilite. Some might say you need more for casting worthless wood and other funky shapes but for the alumilite itself it gets the bubbles out just fine. Over all, I think those are well constructed for a Chinese made pot and it'll serve you well. I personally don't push the limits of the pressure because I don't see how I'd gain from it.
The 90psi is likely the pressure the pot was Hydro tested. You don't want to go higher than the 50 psi working pressure. While it worked once in initial testing to 90 psi, continued used will fatigue the material making it weaker through time as will any corrosion or other damage. Going above the designed working pressure (50 psi) will weaken the pot quicker.
