This was a bowl blank of cherry.

Agree with all the posts above (especially the Scotch). However, for those of us who are color challenged all I see is a silver tip and what sticks outside the ashtray. Sorry, I'm color blind, kinda, and your photo is probably great but I can't really appreciate what you've done.
