A friend of mine found it in the woods. It's mother was attacked by a few dogs in the swamp, she couldn't save the mother. Today it was brought to a center to be released when it can fend for it's self.

Considering it was a female deer, might be kinda hard getting antler.

No! This is the true side of the hunting. The love of a hunt but a true love for the out doors and any animal in it. Once to gun goes away and the sessions over a true hunter loves the animals just as much as the hunt. Sorry I just hate people who think we hunters hate animals.

Luke is spot on! The harvest is the worst part of the season for many! the rocky mountain elk federation, The moose federation and Ducks unlimited members have all raised and released orphan game animals.
I spend a great deal more time watching and getting to know the critters my family depends on than chasing them.

In fact I have been in the same spot as that pic and we nursed it till it was big enough and let it free. Not wanting any harm to get it.
