I am jumping into Bespoke and will be ordering some tools this week. I don't know much about fountain pens. I've made quite a few from kits for sale and gifts, but the Nib type was never really a consideration. I just used whatever came in the kit. I'm guessing that the real aficionado will have a preference. Initially I would like to start with just one size/brand for simplicity and cost sake. What shall it be Bock 5 or 6 or Jowo 5 or 6? Or, did I overlook something else? TIA Russ

I have some repeat customers who prefer Bock #6, but I would recommend starting with JoWo #6. Either of those are a better choice than the #5 sizes in my opinion.

I prefer Jowo #6. Many pen brands use them. I find them to be better writers, and less prone to problems, and easy to find.
Agree! As a user and collector of fountain pens since 1988, JoWo 6mm size for steel, and Bock 6mm size for gold.
