Predator Calls

Actually this is what I turn. I have never made a pen in my life. This is a set of predator calls made from Desert Ironwood (that I got from Reed43), Maple Burl, and Ebony. I have basically been a Pentrurner.org lurker that has really enjoyed looking at other’s work and learning more about turning and finishing. Thanks for that.

Very nice work, Jerry! Are you using the call parts from Hut, or do you have another source? I have seen the calls in the Hut catalog, and often wondered about their quality.

I have gotten some of the parts from Hut, but now make my own tone boards for the open reed calls. That is not nearly as much fun as the turning of the call bodies. The enclosed reed is made by J C Products, but Hut doesn't carry them. If you want to give the enclosed reed call a try let me know and I will try to help you get started.
