Hey Guys,
This is to let all of you know that our member and my good friend John (desertrat), we will be going in for heart surgery tomorrow morning. He is the type that will never say anything to anybody but, I wanted to let all of you know and I will follow-up with updates.

UP DATE

As of 5:00 pm PST, John is awake and in a lot of pain, they had him doing a breathing treatment when I checked on him last. Talk about technology they replaced a hart valve with a pop out hart valve. They build a pig valve around a spring, roll it up in a tube then when they get in place inside the artery by the old valve, they split the old valve so it wont work anymore then they push out the new valve and it pops open like a sun shade and seals it's self in the artery and takes over for the old valve. :eek:WOW.

That is GREAT NEWS Max!!! So glad to hear that the surgery went well!!

Please continue to keep us all updated...and let John know that all of his friends here are pulling for him!
 
New up date.

John is still in the Hart ICU Unit, He is doing good, every thing is starting to work and move the way it should. The Doctor says his hart is working like it was 16 years old again. He will get his first solid food in the morning at breakfast, he has not had any thing but Ice since Monday afternoon. All of his pain is in the stomach area where they went in to get to the lower artery leading to the hart. He says he does not feel any pain or any difference around his hart. He asked that I send a huge THANK YOU to all that sent prayers and thoughts of wellness for him. He may get to come home at the first of the week.
 
Up Date

Just got word that They have Put John on a Ventilator as of last Night. This was one of the big worries they had and was not what they wanted.
 
Great Up-date

I went and saw John today, He has been removed from the ventilator and is doing great. He has started eating solid food again, and his lungs and Kidneys are working again. He may move out of the CVTU to a regular room on Monday.
