I have had one of those belts on my table saw for a while now. They are worth the investment. If you buy one, you will have a few belts for your lathe. My thought, though, will it be too wide for the lathe. I have some extra, I'll have to check it out.

BTW, I bought it originally to smooth out the running in the saw, and that worked as advertised.

Yah, I don't know about the size yet. I just happened to see this late last night. The lathe did not start making noise until I started going from medium speed to high speed regularly. I had been just using the high speed every once in awhile.

The central idea behind these belts is that normal belts will take a "set" and deform in the shape the belt took when the lathe stopped. This will cause vibration in the machine If you remove the belt and lay it down, is it a circle or oval? A new belt will be a circle.

I have one of these on my table saw and it does noticeably reduce vibration in the saw and cuts are smoother.
