I don't know where I got the lead on this site, but after checking it out, I have found what appears to be a good source for colored transparent and translucent rods in various diameters and rod lengths of around 48" long. They are solid colors only but have many variations including the basic colors, metallics, and pearls. Since many of the regular pen blanks are about 5" long, a 48" long rod could go for over 9 blanks. Might be worth a look, especially if you need a repetition of same colors:

I believe somebody posted the link on here a couple of weeks or a month ago. Great prices, at least that where I got the link to them from a thread on here!

Thanks for the info, I'll file it in my growing list of contacts,

I guess I'm lucky we have a plastic supply house around the corner from my house, less then a mile away.

I have most of the clear colored rods from them and they all turn great. You will get more than you will need for a long time with the 48" rods. Right now i only use them or ink windows, but could see a whole pen made from them, like a colored demonstrator.

Thanks to all of you. As usual, this is good information you are giving me. I should have known that my original information lead came from here.
