For you folks who cast snake skins for pens, is it possible to do the same thing with fish? As I was filleting my dinner tonight I got to thinking it would make a beautiful pen. It was a Steelhead so the colors were beautiful. Just wondering if it is possible.

Serge down under has done fish skins. check out his album, may have a pic of it in there. He sent me a piece and it was fairly thick, still have it and one of these days....Virgil got a piece to, not sure waht he has done.
 
Hmmm.. I can see the entire line, Fish, snakes, cat, dog, pig... Hey wait!! It would be a pig pen [:D]

I dunno, the whole idea sounds pretty fishey to me [;)]

Oh,Oh... make one from a bird and have the satifaction of giving someone the bird... pen! [:o)]
 
Gina at Glimmerz n more has done some. I messed one up that was a fish skin, can't remember which, or I'd have had one to show you that was completed. Here's a page from her website that shows a perch skin:
