Do you cut back on your penturning, or just turning, during the Spring and Summer months?
I have noticed a drop off in the views of items I post on Ebay already.

I don't

I turn about the same amount through most of the year, of course nearer the holidays is always busier. It helps that I need very little sleep, so if I start after dark I can still get in a few hours work. One thing I have noticed about E-bay is more looking/buying in the winter than in the summer.

I have done a fair amount of research on the woodworking hobby. All that I have read has indicated that the slowest part of the year is summer. For all "adult-type" hobbies. The "conventional wisdom" reminds us that the kids are home from school, so the parents are involved there and in outdoor chores.

So your experience is not unusual.

Yes and no

The poorest sales months I have in my little pen kit business are June, July and August...October November and December anre the best. January February and March slower but OK - April May and June are so-so. Similar to most retail businesses Thanksgiving to Christmas is the busiest time.

Summer months, June July and August fair , September, October, November & first week of December good, from the second week in December until the second week in March no shows, this is my busiest turning time as my spring shows are some of my biggest shows. Remember I do a lot of outdoor Art shows and the spring is the perfect weather for outdoor shows.

I have been turning a lot lately the snow is all gone and getting warmer. I use my garage to turn and no heat in the garage. Need to get my turning done now. Because when the grass get green I will be busy mowing lawns.

When my shop was in the basement, I tended to back off when it got warm. But now that my shop is in a poorly insulated garage (we rent) I am just getting out to turn in decent weather. So, I will probably try to do a lot of turning until it gets in the upper 90's.

I am lucky, I am retired and I have small shop in the backyard. It is insulated, heated and has window AC for summer. I doesn't get to cold in the winter and I can keep the shop at 65-68 with no problem In summer it can a does get to 100+ I have been in the shop on a 108 afternoon and it was a very comfortable 74 in there. Start the AC about 10am. Also the wall with the windows and AC face the west an gets full afternoon sun the poor AC unit has to work hard. This year I plan on putting a small awning up to help keep the sun off it.

When it warms up a little, I start thinking about the river and the pontoon. Fishing comes to mind also. Then my wife thinks of things that to be done in the yard and so much for those wonderful thoughts.....

I've just cut back on Pens period... but I still turn about the same year around... when it gets cold in my shop I'll cut back some... can't stand the cold, but don't mind the heat... my shop really isn't heated or cooled so I guess weather does play a small factor.
