Polishing compounds

Got a coupon from Harbor Freight today for their 1/4 lb polishing compound sticks for $2.99 each.

Anybody use these from HF and know for sure if the brown is actually equivalent to triploi and if the white one is white diamond?

When I was in the store the other day that is what was written on the package. That is, tripoli and white diamond.

Be careful, there are several different grades of tripoli and white diamond.

And the binder for these is rendered wast animal fat, the cheaper compounds tend to be more oily, and make more of a mess.

So....has anyone used/tried these compounds from HF? Any comparison to the ones I can get say at Woodcraft?
