Plum Tree

I have been offered some wood from a recently felled plum tree. I have been unable to find any information on using Plum wood for turning.

Has anyone any experience of turning Plum or of it's properties?

Turns nicely and finishes well. Lucky you.

Treat it nicely, I have turned and sold for high dollar many pieces of plum. It needs time to dry and should be coated with much lacquer or other finishes and dont be suprised if it cracks and breaks but it is beutiful.
