Ok let me just be blunt.

This past Sunday I had a fire take out my shop and car. Well insurance is going to cover a few things. You see I'm a disabled person whom got into pen turning as a way to supplement my putrid Social Security check because I'm 52 the checks are dismal. I'm being bold but if anyone has any extra tools supplies like sandpaper ca glue thin, med, thick, polishes. About a year ago without me knowing the wife reduced our coverage as a way to get by month to month. She is stuck being my nurse/caregiver as well as her 94 yo mother. We do what we can but I lost my shadow hand tool on my carbides tools, all lathe tools, lathe, sander, buffer, bandsaw, tons of handtools a other smaller electric handtools all that we've spent 28 years collecting. So ANYTHING would be appreciated need blanks, pen kits, sand paper finishing supplies, drill bits, bandsaw, extra lathe lol buffing wheel PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANYTHING PEN RELATED. I ASO LOST MY 283 collection of finished pens ready for selling. This has been an emotional and tiring week please if you feel led to help PM ME DROP a note send ME AN IM...I'm begging for help and desperate. So Please please help

I may have a lathe... It is a Nova Comet 14DR. It was my first lathe, but I ended up fairly quickly wanting to turn things that midi lathe couldn't really do. It is not the best lathe, and is a bit noisy after being sent in for an RMA (not sure exactly what was wrong with it, Teknatool thought it was the control box but after replacing that 4 times the problem I had persisted...so I sent it back to them, and they basically rebuilt it) It has been sitting in its box in my living room after I finally received it back from Teknatool. Took them long enough that I ended up getting another lathe so I could keep turning, so I don't need it. I was going to put it on Craigslist for a few hundred bucks...but I would be happy to give it to you...

The only challenge I foresee is getting it to you. Even though it is a midi lathe and not that large, it is still heavy enough it would probably need freight to ship. If you can figure out a way to get it from here to you, then its yours! ;) PM me if you are interested.

EDIT:

I just remembered I also have a metal stand, two piece, adjustable height, for the lathe as well. I'd happily include that with the lathe as well, so you have somewhere to put it and get it adjusted for proper turning height for yourself.
