plating problem on bolt-action pens

I have 2 bolt-action pens with the gunmetal finish that have plating defects. I called PSI and the said to send them in so they see the problem and repair them. I had already assembled them to blanks when I noticed it. I got in a hurry and didn't inspect them first.:frown: My question is, would you send them assembled or would you dis-assemble them and send them without the blanks. They said they would return the whole assembly.

I would just send in the whole pen, I had to do the same thing with CSUSA but they repaired the pen and returned it completed the way they got it.

Never mind! Boy do I feel stupid.:redface: I decided to see how loose the finish was around the bad spot and scraped at it with my fingernail. It was a loose piece of finish that was stuck to the pen and came right off. When I checked the other pen it was the same thing. I'm just glad I caught it before I sent them back.
