I've noticed that there are an increasing number of people having trouble posting photos. (Not in albums, but in forum posts...) The general reason for this is special characters (non alphanumeric) in the filenames. The reason behind this is that the filename is used in the URL that points to the file, and certain characters are illegal or have special meanings in URLs
Yes, I should add some code to the upload software to filter those out, but I have not had the time. I underestimated the importance of this, as I come from the 8.3 letters and numbers file name era and I personally find it mostly unnecessary to use anything other than letters and numbers. Microsoft and others encourage us to use whatever characters we want in filenames, but we don't have the same luxury with URLs.
So, please avoid these in the filenames of photos you upload to posts:
; / ? : @ & = + $ , ! ~ * ' ( ) # %
Although spaces are legal, I always suggest underscores instead.
