Super job on these pens ivel! The fit and finish look spot on!

Thanks, the second one is wood with a CA finish, other three are acrylic, resin or something of the like.

It took me the longest to get the CA finish right. I almost gave up on it.
 
Great work! CA finishes will get easier the more you do them, but honestly it's my least favorite process of making a pen.

True, I've tried friction polish to avoid the CA process and its great if I'm looking for a finish that still feels like wood but I've not found anything to match or surpass the luster of a CA finish, but I am new at this.

I wet sand my CA finish 1000 and 1200 sandpaper then run through the 9 micro mesh sanding pads 1500 to 12,000, on to my buffing wheel with a blue compound to finish up. I've heard that the blue is a 3500 grit but my research says it has no abrasives in it ???

All I know is that it REALLY pops after the blue stuff unless you forget to take your dusty safety glasses off. :mad::eek::biggrin:
