IAP friends,

As many of you know, many of the auctions at Penefit.org have ended. We do still have 64 pens without homes though so please pass on the word to your friends and family.

I want to update the membership here on how much has been raised to date. This was not an official IAP endeavor but the vast majority of pens and penmaking items were donated by IAP members so in the interest of accountability, I want to share the totals by category.

Here is what has been raised so far.

Pen Making section: $2,307
Other Items section: $960
Pens: $2,567
Total to date: $5,804

THANK YOU ALL who generously donated pens and penmaking items and who bid on these items!

I missed the donation part of this, unfortunately. I did purchase a few pens and blanks to participate in this fine fund raiser. Thanks to everyone for taking time to put this together.

Great job, Curtis and YMD!!!!

Having watched several fundraisers over the years, I want to say this is the FIRST I can remember where the results were posted for all to see!!! I applaud you, Curtis!

While I always believe the "organizers" are properly using the proceeds of these events, it is nice to get a report showing HOW successful the event was. Coupled with the initial "in person" auction, this means Cody's family should be approaching $10,000 in "help".

So, as you consider the next request for a pen or other donation, avoid thinking, "Oh, heck, what good can I do??" Instead think, "Gee, I COULD help this family in a noticable way!!"

The straightforward approach used on this project should be rewarded by participation in future projects!!

Again, thanks Curtis and Dan!!

Curtis and YouthMinisterDan,
This is a wonderful thing you have done, as well as all the participation from the IAP, it speaks very highly of this organization and I am proud to have been able to participate in my tiny part.

It has been a challenge being a part of this with a few hiccups along the way but over-all a great project to be apart of. I would like to thank Curtis, all the pen donors, pen making supply donors and other items that were donated to help make this a success.

Cody was suppose to go with a group of us tonight to the Mesquite Rodeo. One of the members of our church bid and one a suite for 12 including dinner. Unfortunately Cody and his dad will have to stay home because his white count is so low. He is really having a lot more of a struggle this round than with the previous rounds. So if you think about, please saw a prayer for Cody.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make this a success!!

Dan
