I am having trouble getting reliable pencil mechanisms. I have tried PSI kits and the converter kits from Cross. I don't know if it is me doing something wrong or the kits are not right.Either the lead won't come out or it won't stay out.Sometimes the mechanism won't even fit in the barrel Is there any other mechanism that will work? I know it is all Cross stuff,I am just looking for alternatives.

Although there may be some out there somewhere, I don't know of any dependable Cross style pencil mechanisms that are available to us.
If you go with a pen that used the Parker style, there is a Schmidt pencil mechanism that works great, but it does not have an eraser with it.
