Well...I haven't been posting as much lately because I started a new job (FINALLY!). Worst part is I'm working 6-7 day workweeks for the next few months. So, my back is taking a bit of a beating. There's not much lifting but I do alot of twisting and stretching. Well...long story short, I twisted my back all out of whack about 1 1/2yrs ago and have needed somewhat regular chiropractic work since. My family has been seeing the same chiropractor for atleast 15yrs if not more. This past friday I set a new record for his office. My lower back and hips were sooooo out of alignment that my left leg was 1 1/2" LONGER than the right. I felt like was walking up stairs 24/7. He got me all back to normal and I'll be seeing him weekly for a while to keep things good. So that brings me to my question. Does anyone have any ideas for a chiropractors pen? One idea I have is to try and find a miniature model of a spine and try to clear cast it. I'm open to any and all suggestions yall might have since this is such a creative group. Thanks yall.

Maybe one of the lazer guys can make one up??? That would be cool.

Or if anyone has a site where you could get a tiny skelton of the back that can be casted would be great also. I like this idea because I am right now laid up again for about the 4 time this year because of a back that has been cranky. I have been seing a chripractor also and this would be a great idea.

Just remember he might prefer a really nice rollerball without the spine reference gimick and a heartfelt thank you.

I work for a Chiropractor. I gave him an El Grande because of all the writing he does it's easy to hold on to and the rollerball makes it nice to write with.

Cheap way could be a picture of a spine placed on with a decal?

Jonathon,

Peter here I go to my Chiropractor three times each week on a twelve months plan with him, I discovered that he is part of a Masters (older age) Soccor team as is the owner of the business. They had a business twentieth anniversary party recently for clients and so I made two pens and inserted a miniature Soccor Ball in the top of each pen as a gift for them, no pics but did happen. For the ball I purchased them from a Salon that does Tattoos and Piercings. The spheres are those that are attached to piercings have a small shallow threaded hole in them to fit to a Stem. Reason for the detail is I figure a piercing takes a thrashing in use and would not chip etc or fade.

So talk to receptionist and learn his interests etc for a clue as to how to best fit a pen to his life style or interests. Over here they are called Doctors maybe the Doctor Clip would identify strongly for him easily obtained and so effective as well. He may follow a sport or your State Colours. For my Dentist I made a Wisdom Tooth inserted in the top of a pen, for a Dental Repair guy a handpiece top for the pen, for a Steelworker Rebar pens. For a Golfer a burl slice grooved in the outside after bark removal threaded a cut off wood underneath, threded into the burl and with a shot thread locked the club after clearing the surface a bit flat. Made a spade bit to size by grinding to fit an Aussie dated Penny for the year of birth set in the top, made a pen for the rest cut into the top with a hex body of the burl. Polished the burl slice underneath. Now look carefully in the library at the ideas there to match your need after some research and I promise you it will reward both you and your Chiro bloke.

Have success and publish your result on the forum so many people say we do not help or share with one another I look forward to the day when all we will read is how we can help and how we do and the pics of the results.

Have fun I do. Regards Peter.

Hi again just thought if you get White Corian and use a Dremel you could easily carve a tiny vertebrae and inset it in the top of the pen at right angles to the clip. I will look for the tooth I made and inset for my Dentist to give you and idea how I did it and left it protrude to show crown detail.

Remembered making a pen from three brass darts for a hobby dart player using brass knurled darts, a Spark Plug pen for a Motor mechanic from Corian Ebony. Couple of pics to give shape to my ideas .

Hope this stimulates some ideas.

Regards Peter.

My brother in law is a chiro.. (Makes things nice on the wallet).
Last Christmas I gave him a sierra with a spine decal on BOW.

Not Related to Business

Unless he has vanity license plates describing his occupation, he might rather have something that speaks "success" rather than advertising his work. I gave my MD a pen light, he carry's one all the time and the one I gave him is much nicer than the one he carries.

Thanks everyone for the help and responses. I'll take everything to mind and do some investigating Friday when I have my next appointment. Thanks again! Time to get cracking (pun intended!) on some work.
