Pen design programs

I have a question for all of you, do you use any of the pen design programs that are on PSI or Woodcraft? What do or don't you like about them? What is missing from them that you would like to see?

They are kind of cool for seeing what things you could buy would look like - but honestly it seems the vote is that most want something like that for their site so customers can custom order pens and enter own prices, etc.

I have something in the works on this though :wink:

I'm more of a lets see what kits and blanks I have in the basement today kind of person....

In the end, it's probably a nice gimmick to get someone started in penturning, but I imagine most experienced turners don't waste their time on it.

Exactly. While I did waste a couple minutes playing with the thing, it's not something that I expect to ever actually use.
