There has been a fair amount of comment about the apparent lack of banter/spirit during the bash this year. It is my first so I wouldn't know if that is true or not.
But I did notice that with the pen contests there was only the one thread announcing the rules etc, right up until the photos were posted. Very little opportunity for banter etc.
Basically this meant that the daily activity revolved around the "Trivia", "Daily Puzzle" and the "Wood ID" contests. There was no other way to be involved.
Would it be possible to close the entries for the pen contests towards the beginning of the month?????. We all know that there will be another Bash in February next year, so why can't we make our pens and other items ready to be entered on (say) the 1st day. Then all the entries could be posted and have the better part of the month to comment etc. and then do the judging as was done this year towards the end of the month.
