Tomorrow marks the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor that led to the United States entry into WW II. We need to remember the brave souls who died for us on that day and those who went through it and survived.....not many of them left with us now. They will need to be close to 90 to have been in the military at that time.

My dad built bombs in a foundry in Illinois during the war. 500 pound bombs.

Dad passed away in October less than month shy of his 94th birthday.
 
God bless every one of these men, from the sad sack who peeled potatoes to the pilots of the B-17's. These men are the reason I don't speak German or Japanese.
They are the reason I can attend Church, I can proudly salute my flag or travel this great country with fear. December 7 is a day to honor these men and remember the ones who did not return home. REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR, remember that Grandfather, Uncle, Dad or neighbor who fought and to keep this country free.

My Grandfather was right there in the battle. As my grandmother She pu;;ed the sailors out of the water and took them to the hospital. Both lived yet that one day lived with them until … they passed.

I remember their Dec 7 war stories. May we all take a silent moment to remember the brave souls who lost their lives on DEc 7th 0800.
 
My father (past away Feb 1977) was a mechinistmate back then. It is funny to see the pictures of him in just his t-shirt, dungrees and sailor hat on the ship. Sometimes he didn't even have a t-shirt on. Can't do that now adays..

Dad died in 94, he was a hell of a man. Never talked about his 2 and half years in WW11 overseas away from Mom. All I can remember him saying was when my brother shipped to Vietnam in 68 was " I know what he is in for, it is hell on earth".. These men and women gave us the freedom we now enjoy in the USA.
Rest in peace Dad.
 
Thanks to them and all of those who keep our country safe. We should honor all of your and their efforts because without the brave people who serve we would not be a great nation. We forget the sacrifices made much too early.

Grandpa served as an aircraft mechanic in Italy. He passed 11-26-93. I really wish I had been old enough to truly enjoy the stories he had (I was 8 when he passed). Luckily he kept everything (including all of the letters between he and my grandmother) from his time of service.

May we remember those lost in battle honorably and thank those still living for what they've endured to insure our freedom. Thank you to all of the service men/women for what you do/have done.
 
I have an Aunt that is a Pearl Harbor survivor and she is still alive. My family had a little local notoriety during WWII. My Dad's had 9 brothers & one sister. Six of them enlisted. My Dad spent two years in the Pacific.
 
dad was a ball gunner in b-17 flying out of molesworth, england .. miss him a lot
thanks to all who that and are serving !
 
Remembering Peal Harbor

God Bless them all. Thank you for your sacrifice. We should never forget those who perished that day and those who went on to fight for our country.
