Finally, I made one that I probably won't take apart and re-work.

Dale, I certainly wouldn't touch it.

It is Spectacular.

The PC Blank is terrific, and the Pen and the Blank complement each other perfectly.

With regard to PC Blanks, you have well and truly arrived.

Congratulations.

very nicely done mate, i have done a few of these and i know how much fun it is cutting the PC canes thin

not to mention second guessing yourself as to placement of the bits

you have done a great job with this one, don't pull it apart, its too good for that

MIK

Thanks all for the kind words.
This is such a different course from wood or even plastic blanks.
Completely different from start to finish.
How long to make the blank? Much too long on the ones getting started and learning the techniques. I'd say eventually it may get down to 2-3 hours. But that would include the 30 minutes plus for baking the blank. That will be cut way down when more than one are baked. I only do 2 or 3 things at a time now.

Fantastic work, Dale. I especially like the roses; the depth in the petals is amazing to me. I also like the brightness, and how the colors all coordinate into an outstanding pen.

Dale, believe it or not, I am doing a demo on making PC pens at the December meeting. Please bring yours for show and tell. I did a demo at the 2012 MPG on PC pens.
