That was a funny story and very appropriate. I haven't dealt with B of A since the early '70's.... the Gioninni Branch in San Mateo, CA carried my first home mortgage... no problems and they actually had a very good reputation back then... after I moved further down the peninsula I switched to a bank closer to home and just never went back... my step son is a truck driver and banks with them because they're pretty much everywhere and he can access his ATM's and accounts for less costs than if he goes off line... but they have called here for him, trying to sell him some kind of insurance policy... in at least 30 calls, I have told them each time he doesn't "live here"... he is a truck driver and only gets his mail here. I've explained this to 30 different people and even so far as to ask for a supervisor and explained to them... we still periodically get calls.

Boy is it great to see a bank get some back!! Maybe if it happened more often they'd think twice before they stuck it to their customers.

I inherited BofA when they bought up Coutrywide. I'm one of the Countrywide customers who has paid on time, and not given them any grief. But I think they look all of the Countrywide accounts as trash. I'd give my right arm to go to another lender but after being unemployed (for first time in 40 years) and then starting a new business, no bank will even talk to me. Hopefully in another couple years. Knowing my luck by then interest rates will go through the roof.

That stupid error on the part of the Bank cost them in good will and it will take thousands of dollars to make up for it.
Now if someone would just get after Chase Bank.

I love it. Every time you turn around banks are trying to nickle and dime you for something. They start charging me for credit cards and debit cards I'll be dealing in cash. I'm forced to deal with one because my pension cheque is direct deposit but I can go in on the first of the month and pull the whole thing and deal in cash for the rest of the month. Getting sick and tired of paying fees to use my own money.
