While taking another load of my mothers stuff to the assisted living apt while on M-59 heading East in front of Lakeside mall (for the locals) I passed a newer red pick up with Jet 14" new in the box lathe coming from the direction of the sale on them at WC. Don't know if he is a pen turner and on here or not. But it was nice to see somebody else on the road to turning bliss!

Not that I have had any turning time, with the parents health issues etc. since July of last year. Hopefully I will now get some turning time soon.
If the guy is on here good luck with your purchase and if you haven't joined the local Michigan chapter of IAP, by all means do so!

I find quiet the opposite, when I go into woodcraft and someone is talking about "getting into it" I try everything to talk them out of it, because there may be that one day I need that one kit as an emergency order and I go in and it was gone, the guy I talked to about it could have been the one that bought that last kit!!!!!! JK.

I don't know, but, I would guess that he is going to turn a pen that is 14" in diameter. I'd have trouble holding one of those!

Dan

PS - Just kidding - I envy the guy!
