Similar Dave in that they are both laminated. Parallam is like thick OSB. Wood chips, usually poplar, are mixed with glue & bonded together under high pressure & heat. Used as structural members. Headers beams & the like. I usually find pieces of 3x12 to 6x12 on sites. A bear to turn because the glue dulls your tools very quickly but neat to look at. will post a picture later.
