On a Virage RB. Both from Beartoothwoods.com I went back to basics on this one, with a dusty & rusty mandrel and bushings.
No problem turning these blanks.

Another beautiful work! There is something very odd about that photo on the right. The finish seems to be a dull finish, BUT the reflection shows sharp lines indicating very smooth finish. Optical illusion? What are we seeing excactly? Very smooth finish with a very controlled soft lighting effect or a matte finish?

Thanks Hank! What we are seeing, is the camera focusing on the center of the pen, while slightly out of focus at the ends. I didn't change anything on the camera since my last photos, so I have no explanation for the change. AND, have no idea of how to fix it. I'll mess with it when I have more time. I may have bumped a button or something.

Nice pens. I like the lava explosion blanks but found them hard to photograph. My abilities are a little weak in that area. I could never get the colors to jump out like they do in real life.
