Paint Pour Pen with clear resin

This is one of my favorite techniques. I rolled the brass tube in paint that was leftover from a paint pour and then cast it in Smooth-On's Crystal Clear 202 resin. It's assembled on a Slimline.

I let the brass tubes dry for a week before casting them, and then leave them in the mold for 2 days before turning them.

Paint pouring is an art technique where you mix acrylic paint with both Floetrol (an additive that slows drying) and 3 in 1 lubricant. You mix the paint colors individually, then layer them in a cup, and the pour the contents of the cup on the canvas. You can create some really cool abstract art effects this way. There are a lot of demo and instructional videos on Pinterest. Below are some of the ones I've done, unfortunately I don't have a picture of the one that goes with this particular pen.

Looks really nice. Do you need to use a pressure pot when using Smooth-On's epoxy?

I do for the clear resin or if I'm doing any inclusions. If I'm doing anything with the SmoothCast 300 ( an opaque polyurethane) I don't bother.
