We know when we let a pet adopt us that it's for a short time but we still get emotional when we find that they are at the end of their time with us. Dee and I are both dog lovers and have a 14 year old Corgi and a 1 year old Papillion. Tony the Corgi has been in congestive heart failure for a while and is on Lasic. Three days ago he stopped eating and would move from my office only to drink and do his business and he would take 4-5 steps and have to stop to catch his breath. We spent the morning at the Vets and left Tony there. They now say his liver is not functioning well and are going to try by hydrating him and a form of dog dialysis I told the Vet that I do not want him to suffer but will do everything to keep him only if he has a quality of life. I've had times today that the tears just would come and I thought I was a tough old guy. We do think of these pets as children.
