Was working on another bowling ball ring. You'd think a carbide bar would survive plastic. Ah, nope. Part came out of the chuck and...snap! That's an expensive ouch.

Most likely self inflicted error. Had the piece too ligh chucked.

As you know with any cutter on the lathe , alignment of cutter center on line or hair below.is a must. especially with a cut off tool.
