My on-off switch just broke today on my VS Mini Jet. Anyone have a good idea where I can get one. I will try the number in the owners manual Monday. Not sure if it is a "Generic" swith or not.

Thanks,

Lester Moore

Thanks guys, I'll look Monday at Home Depot and go from there. Looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. My lathe is about 15 months old, I love it, the switch is no big deal.

Thanks again,
Lester

I could just be dust between the connections. I have taken the switch apart a couple of times before I found out I could just use the air compressor gun to get rid of the dust.

Hello

I'm new here, although I've been lurking for a while.

I've been turning on my Jet Mini for about 18 months. My off/on switch has died twice. The first time Jet replaced it for free with just a phone call. I'm pretty sure they'd do the same for you. FWIW, my experience with Jet customer service was excellent in every respect.

The switch died again just last weekend. You can get similar switches pretty much anywhere, and very cheap. I could also call Jet again but I don't want to bother with another one of theirs. I'm tired of cheap switches. I'm going to spend a couple of extra bucks and buy a better switch. There are plenty around, they're easy to find and dead simple to install.

I should also say that the switch is the only problem I've ever had with my lathe.

Seems like a nice bunch of folks here. I think I'm going to like it.

Welcome Chuck! Why don't you head upstairs and put a post in the introductions forum. There's plenty of folks who'd like to welcome you properly. And if you have pictures of your work, showing off is allowed here.[:D]
