Having a blast at the show. There are only a handful of turners here. Richard Kleinhenz has a wonderful display. He does some very nice work and offers a large selection. Barry Gross is also here and as always he has a great set-up as well as a couple new concepts that I had not seen before. His ship wreck coin pens were pretty sharp. He also had a Majestic made from Spalted Curly Mango that was to die for. The grain was so nice it looked like something that Charles hand picked. Richard Binder was busy as ever during the whole day "Binderizing" nibs for people while they waited. Linda had her Pelikan medium oblique ground and shaped to a cursive italic. It is amazing to watch Richard at work. He has a great sense of humor and his wife Barbara is a very classy lady. We have a nib smoothing class in the morning that Richard instructs. This alone should be worth the drive and the time away from home. Brian Edison has a large and impressive booth. I last saw his set up at the 2009 DC show and he has come a long way. His designs and materials put him in a class all his own. There did not seem to be a lot of buying going on except for a few booths. The Binders were busy the whole show and hardly got a chance for any lunch. We made a couple of good buys including a small horde or vintage clips. We also got a great deal on a blue Parker vaccumatic that I have already grown quite fond of. Now if Linda will let me keep it.
