The pic below is the little gutter that surrounds the plate on my floor model drill press. I was vacuuming it out today when I saw something shiny so I backed off and took a pic of it. It's a ball bearing and spring from something in the drill press or an adjacent tool. I've not been disassembling anything so I know it's not from something else.

Anyone have any idea what these items might have fallen out of on my Craftsman drill press? This is weird. It works fine and nothing is rattling and yes, the key chuck still has some springiness in the pointy part that goes in the hole (sheesh, I really need to learn the names of these things!)

I also have a blue Rockler pen blank drilling jig sitting right there, but it's not wobbly and seems to be working well too.

Ditto. I have three little baggies with parts from who knows what, but as soon as you toss it you will need it. Murphy's law right?

That is from your Rockler drilling jig. There are 2 of those on each side of the jig. They do come loose and fall out.

When I found those, it was from the height adjustment on my band saw guide. I don't know where the gremlins put the set screw, but I got 8' travel from the spring and bearing.
