For starters, I have a Delta Midi, L200 I think:confused: I know it is older model.

Which Chuck is more appropriate for my lathe. Granted the Midi is more designed for the lathe like mine but would the Nova 2 work or is it of a size that shouldn't be used on the smaller units?

Andrew... I have the same lathe as you do and I would go for the Midi or G3... the Supernova 2 (recommended for lathes from 14" to 20" diameter swing) is too big for these little 1/2 HP motors... we simply can't spare the power.

I have the Nova Midi and I love it. I got it last year when CUSA had the for $69. I actually like the Tommy bars, because that is what I have always used.

The Midi will NOT accept threaded inserts, so that means you need to make sure your lathe is 1x8 TPI.

I just got a cusa flyer and this chuck with 2 inch jaws is currently $74.99

Check around on Amazon and you might find a good deal on a chuck that comes with more than one set of jaws too. I use my 1-1/2" to 3-1/8 gripping jaws and pin jaws about equally as much and its always nice to have options when you get the urge to do a project.

Also, there are too many chucks on the market with 1 X 8 tpi threads (which is what you have on the LA 200) so don't bother with anything requiring an insert.
