How do you remove the markings from a golf ball, or is it impossible to do without destroying it? I have tried to get un-marked balls, but because I only need a few I cannot get them as they are sold in quantity.

So far, I've tried:

rubbing compound
paint thinner
sand paper (scuffs the ball too much)
I'm going to try vinegar and soak it overnight ........

Any thoughts?
Thanks again, for any and all assistance,
Tim

If you have some Ink Away sitting around, you might try that with a dremel buff pad. That stuff is awesome.

Or, when in doubt, bring the acetone out.

If you ever saw me hit a golf ball, you would see me scuff the writing off. Seriously, if you could get a small amount of MEK ( methyk ethyl keytone ) it might do the trick. It will clean just about anything.

I have no idea about golf balls but I have had a lot of luck with goo gone and a teflon scrubber. Maybe even a stronger scrubber would work.
