Not Another "What wood is this" Question

Sadly that is what I have..:confused::eek:
A friend gave me some ornamental "Candles" that were about 2.5" circumference and about 3 feet long.
as I cut them up they seemed a tad oily and felt half the weight of a black walnut chunk the same size roughly 3" long...
I say Black walnut because that is what the coloring looks like only more straight and open grain.

due to a minor issue with phone It may be a few hours before I have couple of pictures available.

Boil it to remove the wax, you will know when the wood is free of wax/oil...!

There is, if that is what you want to do, I don't seem to be sure of the wood stype, sorry...!

IT reminds me of Butternut, but Butternut doesn't have color distinction between growth rings.
 
Dont know if this helps, but I am a harbor master at a marina, worked up through the ranks by working on boats for a living, and that looks like teak for sure to me.
That pattern matches cut offs I have and to me is unique.

Just my 2 cents
